Shop settings
Shop settings is where you maintain the catalogue behind your products: the attributes a product can vary on -- clothing size, gi size, glove weight, colour -- and the values each one offers. The same attributes are what you later record a member's size against.
Navigate to Settings > Shop.
Hand equipment to members
At the top sits a single switch: Hand equipment to members. It is off by default, because most clubs give nothing out. While it is off, the whole topic stays invisible in the app.
Turn it on and four things appear:

Given is not sold
Anything handed over at signing costs nothing. No invoice, no transaction -- only a record that the member received the item. Selling happens under Orders.
Sizes & attributes
An attribute is an axis products vary on. Each one gets its own card on the page, with its values as chips underneath.
Click Add attribute in the top-right corner to create one:

| Picker label | What members and staff see above the selector. Gloves are a weight, not a size. |
| Values | The options, separated by commas or line breaks -- "S, M, L, XL". You can add more at any time. |
| Members have this size | On for anything a person wears. Off for axes only the product has, such as colour. |
| Who is this for? | Optional: the member types this attribute applies to. Nothing ticked means everyone. |
Each card also shows whether the attribute counts as a Member size or is Product only, how its picker is titled, and how many members and products use it.
Member size or product only
An attribute marked as a member size is remembered against the person. Whenever that size is picked -- on their profile, in the Equipment step at signing, or when an item in that size goes out to them -- it is stored on their profile as the size they wear, and comes back preselected next time instead of someone having to ask again.
An attribute that is product only is never stored against anyone. Colour is the classic example: a gi comes in white and blue, but that says nothing about the member wearing it.
Once members have a size recorded on an attribute, it can no longer be switched back to product only -- those sizes would be lost.
Maintaining values
At the end of a card's chips sits a small input: type a value and press Enter to add it. Hover an existing chip and two buttons appear:

| Retire | The value disappears from every picker but stays on the members and products that already have it. That is how you drop a size from the range without losing history. Restore brings it back. |
| Delete | Removes the value for good -- but only while nobody uses it. If a member wears it or a product stocks it, it is retired instead and you get a notice saying so. |
You delete a whole attribute with the bin icon at the top right of its card. That only works while no member and no product uses it; otherwise it stays and you get a message.
Who is this for?
An attribute can be pinned to one or more member types -- the kids' gi scale to Kids and Teens, for instance. A member is then only offered the scales that fit them.
- Nothing ticked means everyone. That is the default.
- When the member type is not known yet -- halfway through a signing, say -- nothing is narrowed.
- An attribute a member already has a size on stays visible for them, even if you later pin it to a different member type.
The scope applies to what is handed over. It narrows nothing at the till: a parent buying a kids' shirt is an ordinary sale.
What your club starts with
A newly created club comes with a starter set you are free to rename, extend or delete:
