News feed
The news feed is your club's internal broadcast channel. You can publish announcements, run polls, and send push notifications -- all from a single interface. Members see posts in the mobile Omoplata app (or your club's personalized app) and can like and respond to questions.
You can find the feed under Communication > Feed.
Enabling the feed
The feed can be toggled on or off under Settings > General. When disabled, posts are hidden from members.
Post types
A simple post with a title and optional body text. Ideal for announcements, updates, or reminders. Members can read and like the post.
Drafts, scheduling, and publishing
The published at date determines the status of a post:
- Leave empty -- The post is saved as a draft. Only you and your team can see it.
- Future date -- The post will go live automatically at the chosen time. If a push notification is enabled, it will also be sent at that time.
- Past or current date -- The post is immediately visible to members.
One-way publishing
A published post cannot be unpublished. If you need to remove a published post, you must delete it.
Push notifications
You can optionally send a free push notification to your members' smartphones when a post is published. Enable the Send push notification option when creating or editing a post.
Use sparingly
Reserve push notifications for important posts -- such as schedule changes, urgent announcements, or time-sensitive polls. If members receive notifications too frequently, they may disable them on their device and miss the ones that truly matter.
- For immediate publishing, the push notification is sent right away.
- For scheduled publishing, it is sent automatically at the scheduled time.
A push notification is never sent twice. Once sent, the option can no longer be disabled.
Not all members will have push notifications enabled -- this is perfectly normal. Regardless, every notification is shown to all app users under the bell icon inside the app, so no one misses an important update.
Recipients and segments
By default, a post is visible to all members. You can restrict visibility by selecting segments as recipients when creating or editing a post. Only members belonging to at least one of the selected segments will see the post.
Segment membership is resolved dynamically -- if the composition of a segment changes (e.g. new members joining or rules being updated), post visibility adjusts automatically.
Setting up segments
Segments are managed under Settings > Segments. See the Segments page for details.
Reviewing responses
For question posts, you can view submitted responses directly from the feed overview. The review shows:
- Summary -- For choice-based questions, a bar chart with the distribution of answers per option (count and percentage).
- Individual responses -- A searchable list of all responses with the member name and date.
Answer deadline
You can optionally set an answer deadline on questions. After the deadline, members can no longer respond. Without a deadline, responses remain open indefinitely.
Likes
Members can like posts in the app.
Comments
The comments feature for posts is not yet active and will be available in a future release.
Editing and deleting posts
When editing, there are some restrictions:
- The answer type of a question is locked once responses exist.
- The push notification option cannot be disabled if the notification has already been sent.
When deleting a post, all associated responses are permanently removed as well.
Irreversible
Deleted posts and their responses cannot be recovered.
Member view
Members see the feed in the mobile Omoplata app (or your club's personalized app). They can read published posts, like them, respond to questions, and view results of completed polls. Each member can respond once per question but can update their answer afterwards.
Permission
Creating, editing, and deleting posts requires the manage communication news permission.
